The Rift Valley Institute (RVI) is an independent, non-profit organization working in Eastern and Central Africa. The aims of the Institute are to advance understanding of the region and its diverse communities, to connect local knowledge to social and political action, to defend freedom of information and to promote social justice. RVI programs include action-oriented research, field-based training, digital archives, distance learning and open-access publishing. The IPCS and RVI are jointly implementing a capacity building for research project funded by the Somalia Stability Fund (SSF). This project is aimed to support for the delivery of the highest quality research in the Somali higher learning institutions, including Somaliland. Not only to this project, but the IPCS and RVI jointly organizes public seminars and forums to attract wider audiences.
