Senior Lecturer
Abdilahi M. Odowa, PhD Candidate – is a senior lecturer at the Institute for Peace and Conflict Studies at the University of Hargeisa, Somaliland, and the Managing Director for the Observatory of Conflict and Violence Prevention (OCVP). Mr. Odowa has a Master’s Degree in Natural Resources and Peace from the United Nations Mandated University for Peace-UPEACE in Costa Rica, and another Master’s Degree in Peacebuilding from Centre of Trust, Peace and Social Relations at Coventry University in the United Kingdom. He is currently persuading his PhD in Peace, Governance and Development from University for Peace in Costa Rica. Mr. Odowa has an extensive experience in teaching and research.
Abdiwasa Abdilahi Bade, PhD 
Assistant Professor
Abdiwasa Abdilahi Bade, PhD – is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Political Science and International Relations, Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia; and at the Institute for Peace and Conflict Studies in the University of Hargeisa. He has a PhD in Political Science from Addis Ababa University. He did his first and second degrees also in Addis Ababa University in Political Science and International Relations respectively. He also had done his second MA in International Law from the University of Amsterdam. He taught different courses focusing on international relations, including the Horn of African Politics, government and politics in Africa, political economy of Africa, human rights and governance, and international law. He also supervised both graduate and undergraduate students on a number of issues varying from local Ethiopian politics to international issues such as terrorism, piracy, small arms trafficking and refugee issues. He has been to Rhodes, Paris and Columbia universities where he presented papers. He has also been to Brown University for summer school and also did his short postdoctoral at Bergen University.
Samuel Andreas, PhD 
Senior Lecturer

Samuel Andreas Admasie, PhD – is a senior lecturer at the Institute for Peace and Conflict Studies at the University of Hargeisa, Somaliland and regional representative of the International Institute of Social History in Addis Ababa. He obtained Master’s Degrees in International Political Economy and Development from the Institute of Social Studies of the Erasmus University of Rotterdam, the Hague, the Netherlands, and in African Studies from Leiden University, the Netherlands. Since 2013 he is doing a joint PhD in African Studies and History at the University of Basel, Switzerland and the University of Pavia, Italy.
Samuel Kale Ewusi, PhD
Samuel Kale Ewusi, PhD – is a Professor of Peace and Conflict Studies at the Institute for Peace and Conflict Studies at the University of Hargeisa, Somaliland. He also serves as the Africa Regional Director of the United Nations University for Peace – A University created through resolution 35/55 of the General Assembly of the United Nations in 1980 and based in Costa Rica, Central Africa.He holds visiting Professorships at the following Universities – Universidad Alfonso X elSabio, Madrid, Spain, Sudan University of Science and Technology, University of Kordofan, Sudan, Uganda Martyrs University, Copperbelt University, Zambia, University of Rwanda, University of Buea, Cameroon, Police Senior Command and Staff College, Uganda, Institute of International Relations Yaoundé, Cameroon and the UPEACE Main Campus in Costa Rica. He has authored, co-authored and Edited 8 books and published more than 20 journal articles in peer reviewed journals. He holds a Bachelor of Law (Cameroon), Masters in International Relations (Maiduguri, Nigeria) and a PhD in Peace Studies and International Relations (South Africa).
Mohamoud Abdi, PhD Candidate
Senior Lecturer 

  Mohamoud Abdi Sheikh Ahmed, PhD Candidate – is a senior lecturer and one of the founding members of the Institute for Peace and Conflict Studies at the University of Hargeisa and later became the director of the Institute. Mr. Mohamoud has a Master’s Degree in Conflict Resolution from University of Bradford in the UK, Postgraduate Diploma in International Development Studies from University of Oslo in Norway, Professional Certificates in Investigative Journalism and Public Opinion Polling from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in the United States and Bachelor of Science in Education from Amoud University in Somaliland.  Mr. Mohamoud currently is pursuing his PhD in Education at the Atlantic International University (AIU) in the United States of America. He has more than 15 years of International humanitarian and development experience and worked in Africa, Asia and Europe mainly with International Non-Governmental Organizations(NRC, WUSC, SCI, Action Aid and alike). Currently he works for the United Nations and based in Hargeisa. Mr. Ahmed is a fellow of many foreign associations and friends. He was the first Somali Rotary Peace Fellow and current alumni. He is the author of several books in education and social life included Deafness and Education; the Curable Deadly Disease – TB in Borama; My Opportunity; and few articles in peace and reconciliations as well as Somali literature. His research interests include non-verbal behavior, social issues, natural science and education. His spare time is most devoted to humanitarian work, self-help, managing, teaching, reading and writing.
